As an interaction designer at IXDS in Munich, Lio strives to get to the core of the wicked problems of complex data and diverse people. A core value in everything they do is integrity and ethical justifiability.
Before joining IXDS in September 2017, Lio graduated from Potsdam University of Applied Sciences and interned with Google and Microsoft Research. These great places played a great role in shaping Lio’s research focus on human-AI-interaction with special attention to user/data privacy and trust, resulting in a BA thesis about the design problems arising from inferred personal data.
In all their work, the physical potential of human bodies has always been a strong interest and led to investigating intimacy and inclusiveness in interaction design, and applying this to real projects. To mention a few, Lio has worked in medical technology, designing interfaces for touch and handheld equipment used in the OR during minimally invasive surgery.
On their 5th day, Lio takes their colorful bike and cycles out into the countryside to learn how to work with horses and ride. Some of their free time is also spent on organizing the Munich Music Quiz and being active in queer politics. As a huge animal lover, Lio has two fluffy cats and an annual pass for the Munich Zoo. Oh, and cosmology!
